What i really don't understand is how this Gilead drug trial is good news. The trial for Remdisavir has 397 patients, half on the drug for 5 days and the other half on for 10 days. No control group. The half that was on it for 5 days did slightly better than the 10 day group and the results were roughly 50% got better? So, the less time the patient is on the drug the better chance they have of recovering and it is possible if they don't take the drug at all they might have an even better chance of getting better? They have no idea if these patients would have gotten better on their own with not treatment. What utter BS.
It ia amazing to me how hard GILD is working to design a trial to make this drug look god and still not able to do it. I am all for any good treatment but this is a distraction from solving this disease.
