Quote (below) from Dr Patterson today on CC. CCL5 is Rantes. Same protein. There are some grammatical problems in the following translation, but Rantes/CCL5 is a protein involved in binding to CCR5 receptor. In my laymen’s terms (bc I’m a layman), it’s involved in allowing this Virus to attach and take over our immune system. Leronlimab blocks this action as part of our previously known CCR5 Antagonist/Blocking role. The IL-6 cytokine we’ve been hearing about, while a very significant thing, isn’t as key to the Leronlimab effect, nor its action in the body, as Leronlimab’s ability to block Rantes/CCL5.
This was a complete lucky stroke to the researchers. Makes us the “Silver Bullet.”
“I am telling you today COVID-19 is a RANTES disease. RANTES is a protein that binds to CCR5 and elevated levels that are equivalent to an even greater than interleukin 6 both in mild to moderate patients and then critically ill patients. RANTES has also been attributed to renal failure, liver failure, and coagulation issues. So thRANTES has it been involved in, it that makes sense because RANTES coordinates the movements of cells throughout the body.”
