More new jobs created under Clinton than under his predecessor and all of his successors to date. Only budget surplus handed off to his successor in modern history. Not perfect, but neither has bad as you try to portray.

Dubya gave it all back in tax cuts. Presided over 9'11, Katrina and the financial crisis of our lifetimes, up to now. Thanks Dubya.

You can cherry pick polices for all your worth, but the overall destroys any case you attempt to make for competent governance from the GOP.

Why are recessions and poor disaster responses so predictable under Republicans?

Simple; if you believe government is the problem you will take the steps to prove it. That can include, almost always does, deregulation and lack of vigorous enforcement of regulations.

Very un-founding fathers of republicans to ignore, as they consistently do:
Quote:

“If Men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary.

In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and the next place, oblige it to control itself.”
― James Madison

if Madison came back and watched the coronavirus briefings he'd take out his quill pen and amend the quote. 'If some men were not such flaming assholes and such f*cking morons...…..'

I say he'd pick up the vernacular quickly and he'd apply it ruthlessly.
