I really wish the mods of our board could properly admin the users and the site.
I actually spent a couple of hours last night looking into message board software, which is typically written in PHP.

One of these offerings is actually a WordPress plugin that was written, and is maintained, by WordPress (meaning: well supported and unlikely to be EOL anytime soon). WordPress is dead-simple to use and can be installed on any webhost account through the admin console.

Whether this eventually happens or not, I think the big issue is that we will likely not be able to move the ~30k posts on this board -- to any new board.
