Walmart Begins Implementing One-Way Aisles Across Country
Starting Thursday, all Walmart locations are implementing single-direction aisles.
In an effort to increase social distancing during the new coronavirus pandemic, Walmart stores nationwide are implementing one-way aisles.
Beginning Thursday, all Walmart locations will start using the single-direction aisles.
"There will be floor decals in place to help indicate the direct traffic flow. You will find green 'Shop This Way' decals indicating the entrances of each aisle," Walmart said in a Facebook post Tuesday. "You will find red 'Do Not Shop This Way' decals to tell opposing traffic not to enter the aisle."
The retail giant added in the Facebook post that the "one-way aisles are designed to increase social distancing and give customers more space on each aisle."
Walmart has also instituted other safety changes to combat the spread of the coronavirus, including installing plexiglass barriers at checkout lanes, limiting the number of customers allowed in the store, taking employees' temperatures, and requiring all employees to wear face masks.
