Zoom has some problems besides all the lawsuits
Post# of 32634
And I do mean more than one...
BTW, these are real lawsuits
https://www.abajournal.com/news/article/anoth...y-problems
They said their customer base was enterprises
But that customer base was responsible to make Zoom solution secure
Huh?
I guess if you own a house, you are responsible for the security and locks on the doors
But what ever it was someone else's house?
How exactly to you make their own app secure
You didn't build it
You don't have the blueprints
Do you want to pay a lot of money to test it?
Hell know, that's the SaaS vendors job
No enterprise in their right mind is going to sign up for Zoom until those issues are fixed
Even then, they have the negative overhang
We not only screwed up, but we kept it all a secret...
No, deflector shields went up
We never intended to provide industry standard security
That's up to you
I never saw Microsoft, Oracle and IBM pass the buck like this
I guess what could they say?
What made them popular is the ease of use, is now coming back to bite them
If you are an enterprise, you are now working on moving off their system now the truth comes out
So they said the consumer segment was never their intended user base
You know why?
Because they don't pay
Want to chat with your buddy's?
Hey, Zoom is free!
Giving away 90% of you business or whatever the number is, is not sustainable
Especially if some of the paying enterprise customers, go away
Especially if new enterprises hesitate to sign up
Servers, bandwidth and other resources are not free
If you think your internet bill is high, keep in mind, companies pay for that same bandwidth it to come out of their datacenters and it's not $49/mo
You pay for the volume of data going out...
Zoom infrastructure bills have to be through the roof
Money 101
You can't lose money giving away a lot for free and make it up in volume
Read their filings
Their freemium model is well discussed
It will be very interesting to see their Q1 and especially the Q2 numbers
In these crazy times, it's going to be hard to predict but...
Have expectations on Zoom been over set?
Keep in mind I posted an institution that totally sold out of Zoom, but bought VERB
I wish them the best as one day VERB might license some of their tech to them
