VA Hospital: death rate is higher for patients who were given hydroxychloroquine.

They didn't give enough details about the data analysis. What determined who got the drug? Were they all sicker to begin with, so that a higher death rate is to be expected? OR -- does the drug have a much higher rate of bad side effects in someone who is already sick, so that heart or kidney failure is more common, and that's why they have a higher death rate?
Ominously -- what if the drug suppresses the immune system so it HELPS the virus?
