Please note that they mention in passing "shop towels" but do not elaborate on that.
Some women who were making face masks bought a device to test effectiveness of filtration, and they found that the non-woven blue shop towels of several brands were almost as effective as N95 masks, when used with TWO layers. However a caveat: the Scott brand of shop towels DID NOT WORK.
