was someone got a master key to the pop machines and hit every pop machine in the county. My machines did about $50 a night. So that was a haul in 78. There was no such thing of open 24 hours back then other than Iowa.
When gas got to $1.25 some ass came through and cut all the hoses to the pumps in the 2 stations in town.
Check Fraud was the big thing back then. Banks issued counter checks to business. basically blank checks with the banks name on it. No one new the bank account numbers so they just signed. Driver Lic information was worthless because it cost more to prosecute than they amount written. There were few with credit cards. I ran a weekly line of credit for a few.
Everything was based on trust back then. You didn't screw your neighbor.
