Correcting nonsense:
The ex-Royal Air Force Tristars at Bruntingthorpe were in excellent condition when retired as the main front-line tanker and have been kept in "airworthy flyable storage" since.
The UK website www.fightercontrol.co.uk is an amateur aircraft spotter site - the posters there are "wannabes" who try to find something sensational to post.
"Brize" does not mean Bruntingthorpe - it means RAF Brize Norton - the Main Operating Base for RAF Voyager Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft fleet and the C-17A, A400M and C130J transport aircraft fleets.
Some ex-216 Sqn RAF ex-Tristar groundcrew might still be at Brize Norton - either as RAF or Airtanker UK contractors - and the company would have been looking for them to do pre-flight checks on the Tristar - not "make them airworthy".
There was also some duplicate alias basher activity over the weekend - all deleted - with posters "agreeing" nonsense with each other.
The possible move of the Tristars to MOD Boscombe Down - an underutilized miiltary air base - or the GJD facility at St Athan - is due to Bruntingthorpe having been bought by Cox Automotive - which owns Manheim car auctions and also stores new cars - who will be expanding their activities once COVID-19 is over.
Unfortunately a few people have been duped into selling their shares today by all this iHub nonsense.
