Every other "in development" treatment either:
1) Doesn't work
or
2) Has horrendous side effects - especially for severe/critical patients with ARDS
or
3) safety is a complete unknown and is MONTHS away, at best
The most promising are anti-arthritis / IL6 inhibitors, but their tendency to depress (already compromised) immune systems is extremely dangerous. I wish there was *something* that worked for the people dying right now, and there seems to be, and Leronlimab is it.
The press is shilling for Big Pharma, hoping to gain some favor for it, but all of these (basically) pump pieces will end the same way: forgotten when the drugs simply Do Not Work. And it's almost criminal given that it's taking the spotlight from a treatment that has already saved dozens of lives.
I have a friend who just went into ICU and is on a ventilator, his wife says they were going to start Actemra / tocilizumab this afternoon, I told her to insist on Emergency Use / Leronlimab, hoping the Doctor has the time and presence of mind to agree and get clearance.
With thousand dying daily, the disheartening thing is Leronlimab is out there, the studies are open, it's just a matter of awareness now.
