That reminds me when I was locked up as a kid in County, 3 main cells and of course the blacks always claimed the first cell closet to the food or exit. Anyways I will never forget when "I called them colored" they hit the roof. It was my first time in county lockup. They said do you see anything in the Bible about colored? I found out later that the system screwed up and placed me on the 2nd floor which was for felonies instead of the 4th floor misdemeanors. Nope! didn't learn how to play hearts but boy did I have the food, they blacks called me garbage disposal. I would trade my crappy coffee for food. Those that know time stops around 7 days being held. Well no problem but I didn't make probation as I broke probation going with few friends to another County as a new dance place call the Third D was swinging big time and I never missed the top night clubs at that time. My buddies screwed up leaving the vehicle with a bottle of cheap PM booze. My favorite at the time was Singapore Slings. I would carry a a paper in my wallet on the way I liked it mixed where ever I would go. Dancing was my thing to express myself as a young dumb kid. Anyways a cop seen those guys with the bottle I had already been close to entering the building but walked back to see what was taking them so long. Cop asked me if I were with these guys and I said yes why? That pulled my a$$ into the mix and we went to jail that night. One posted bail ASAP he went back home to where I lived and broke in to get a stash of bills then came back and bailed me out around 1 AM.
It was 15 days before the end of my 1 yr probation and figure I had better come clean and tell my PO what happened? (WRONG MOVE DUMMIE)
I was at work when they came and arrested me. The gave me either 3 months or 6 months I just don't remember but the Judge listen to what my dad had to say and reduced it to 30 days. Damn shame I had a chip on my shoulder but I did learn 1 thing prior to that court appears was to remember I had no money the fist time. When they booked me this time I had the money hidden in my hand or feet (don't remember) but I didn't have to roll my smokes I was able to deal with the trusties to buy my Winston cigarettes and I had candy which was a barging tool big time.
The same guy that I mainly traded my coffee for food was also locked up again, and yes...garabage disposal - me trading coffee for food again happy as a pig in crap.
It is a shame many of us just won't listen to our parents to save us some grief but thank the GOD of my understanding or not understanding that I made it to be a man of some sort and happy just to smile or place a smile on your face as we talk with each other about so many things.
