Someone remind me why a placebo is considered a benchmark in clinical trials (blinded or not) and why drug development takes 10+ years and cost bils of $.
In the meantime, we have an aging population w/ late age emerging CNS diseases (and an FDA endorsed amyloid treatment approach that has failed at every turn
and cost BP and indirectly taxpayers huge $$$)
that requires independent/assisted living centers get erected at street corners previously occupied with banks and strip malls. We have a vaping epidemic because the FDA won’t mandate nicotine reduction. We can’t help solve the opioid addiction crisis because the FDA won’t regulate therapeutic drug treatments (amongst illegal opioid drugs).
No wonder Gottlieb left. The average pay of the Top 100 FDA employees is approx 250k and name one significant initiative accomplished or partnered in a Go Fast manner in years.
We need more cowboys and they need bullet proof vests.
Get er done DECN. And if necessary train the regulator.
