Sounds like the Penmont problem was disgruntled employees and came from within. Mexus appears to have a very cohesive work crew and very few of them, most related in one way or the other. Perhaps that will work in their favor. Mexico did however have another record broken in March for murders!!
Assuming Mexus becomes a profitable and on-going operation a book should be written about the mine, its history, and how Paul overcame all the obstacles of operating on a shoestring, the virus, the cartels, and his sheer determination to bring Mexus to a state of fruition against all odds!!
