I think if you search enough, you'll find "studies" that both support and reject it. As I just previously posted, if you google it, one of the first responses that you'll get is "Drinking alkaline water will raise the pH of your bodily fluids. Blood pH is affected within minutes because alkaline water is absorbed quickly by the body. It takes about a half hour or more for it to affect your urine pH, and saliva pH would be raised almost immediately, but the effect is short-lived."
There is no one perfect study that definitely answers the question. I can't say if it works one way or another, but people who I know that drink it are rarely (if ever) sick from viral infections. I know it's not proof but anecdotal, but it certainly seems to be working for me and others that I know. Again, I'm not promoting it, but just mentioned it in response to your earlier comment about a study that shows a high enough or low enough ph factor will stop the coronavirus.
Again, I'm not promoting it but just sharing what seems to work for me.
