One of the buttons, which was to reserve your place in line to get the webinar product, rotated which really catches your eye.
On the bottom Left was a Chat button that swung out a window to leave a comment to the host. A yellow shop button that had a mug to buy when you clicked on it. A button to share a link either cut and paste or in slack.
Buttons on the right were to mute, fullscreen, leave
Video conferencing won't work if you are still on a dial up modem, using old technology, installed a bunch of crapware, hidden viruses, kids streaming netflix in the background, gaming, etc. Some think it's always the other person that has the problem without understanding, maybe it's your problem?
Keep in mind bandwidth usage right now is at an all time peak because many people are at home and there is more conferencing going on than ever. Instead of people in offices having meetings, now every meeting is online.
I'm only getting 1/3 of the speed I normally get and paying for because even though you don't know it, depending on your service, there is only so much for the block and neighborhood. It's a shared pool and one reason why they advertise "up to"
I'm also on web conferencing everyday and see the issues people have on their end. If you are not, maybe your expectations are out of whack or need to get a technician to look at your PC, modem, router, etc. As an example, I was losing my internet connect almost daily last year and was thinking it was my internet service provider. Turns out I was using a modem they no longer supported. Replaced myself and been up ever since.
Vast majority of internet users don't even understand internet speed and the relationship with a good user experience. Don't even know how to test their speed.
The other thing is memory on your computer. If you have or had a lot of "stuff" open, you may be consuming too much memory. I have to reboot my work laptop once or twice a day as it gets so bad, even when I am typing, it's in slow motion. Yup, a lot of things can affect one's user experience.
VERB product isn't release yet as well as they said. That's why they called it a preview.
BTW, it said in the email invite they said they were going to shut off access as soon as it started. That's why one should have registered, read the email and joined ahead of time. They did this on purpose so they could see who joined instead of posting a link on the internet. Smart move.
My lunch came 30 minutes ahead of time as well. Very tasty.
Nancy and McKinley did an excellent job today.
