which thus opens the door for the N-assay to get into the detection fray for covid 19,if some company or the govt was willing to provide the financial resources to do so-and since then a company has stepped up with an interest in doing so-and NNLX has a preliminary agreement with that so far unknown company.
ray, number one, and others have posted current detection methodologies and their limitations, which leaves the door open for NNLX's N-assay -especially since the basic foundational work has been done for the N-assay -and now only needs pre-tests or point of care tests-so its not late to use the N assay detection for the covid 19 virus if covid 19 stays around for some time.
But the N assay isnt limited to any one virus or set of viruses -in fact was originally intended for bacteria -and so when NNLX said it could be used for viruses like ebola also that surprised a lot of us
what i was saying is viruses come and go (sometimes if they dont linger in the background like so many once thought cured) ,but even though human tendency is to complacently fall asleep after each passing crisis, the N-assay utility remains and has been recognized by some big companies e.g for uti and gbs applications-and when a large company recognizes the N-assays wide utility, the pretests etc for various applications should expand- possibly rapidly.
as i said in the post to which you responded:
"whether or not NNLX's N-assay is used for the current pandemic, the N -assay will continue to be useful against a wide range of bacterial and viral conditions in the future,as NNLX has noted, especially in comparison to the more limited diagnosis afforded by the current pcr or pcp tech."
"And yes, the govt contractor -whoever they are -who showed an interest in NNLX's N- assay -as per a preliminary agreement- is not likely to disappear in a week or two."
"whether or not" does not preclude an N-assay application for covid 19.
i.e., if the big company NNLX has a preliminary agreement with moves forward fast enough its possible the n assay app will be in use before covid 19 dies out-if covid 19 dies out-
but biotech is not my comfort zone- i only started this board as an alternative to the basher boards as part of an effort by some to provide an alternative to the basher boards(even though a friend of mine got me into this stock ca 2010-2011)
so i dont know how long it might take to execute whatever pretest is deemed necessary for covid 19 detection- i have to yield to the scientists and M.D. mits here on that score.
