Best of Times, Worst of Times What each and e

What each and every one of us is going through is unheralded, and each person has a unique situation. Some are working, some are not. Some are young, and some are less young. Some are out of work or retired, some are working from home, some have to still go to work. Some have kids at home, some have grown kids, some have no kids at all. Again, each of our situations is unique, and how we chose to deal with the current environment is unique as well. I am sure no two people reading this have the same plan of action, level of anxiety, or methodology to cope.
One thing that we all have in common is that we are all relying, in one extent or another, on Rory and Team Verb to pull us through this muck and mire, and come out the other side still in tact, better positioned, and with a higher valuation. A lot to ask for.
I am truly amazed at the video yesterday for several reasons:
First and foremost, is that Rory is a human being and has the same anxieties and issues that each of us are going through, yet takes the time to go into the office (against his governor's wishes) and develop a video to keep us informed. While Verb may be his baby, he also has a daughter and a wife, who is pregnant by the way, and I am sure that weighs heavy. I cannot begin to imagine the thoughts running through his head trying to navigate not only home life and keeping everyone safe, but also raising money, day to day operations, developing products, hiring employees, and launching several key products....and that is on a typical day. Now add in the fact that he is dealing with the virus op top of all that. I am just a schmuck with a 9 to 5 and when I go home, the work switch gets turned off. Having to deal with the anxieties of home as well as the anxieties of running a fledgling business at such a pivotal time for the company are beyond my comprehension. Yet, he took the time to develop the video and send it out.
Second, is that Gina and Denise were right there in the office with him. Anyone that has met Gina or Denise are not surprised in the least. That would include me.
Third, is the sincerity in that video was off the charts, in my opinion. We have seen some videos of him, specifically during the trying days of the uplist, where the facade was down and he offered a true glimpse into who Rory is and some of the heartfelt moments of what it was like to go through the roller coaster of emotions. For me, this video ranked up there with those. While it is great to see the videos where he is excited and everything is going well, it is more telling when you get a realistic glimpse of life as Rory. Developing goals, timelines, and strategies is hard under any circumstance, but doing so with COVID-10 lurking at every corner is at best a nightmare. I felt like we saw that yesterday. Not defeated by any means.....but triumphant, confident, excited, and nervous all in one. True evidence of someone who I want looking after my investment.
A distant forth, is the content of the video. I am extremely excited to hear Verb Live is coming online soon, that Verb EDU is being released, as well as Tagg Lite and Verb Pro being made available.
If you are able, and you have the time, I suggest you find a way to help your investment. While it would be nice to write a post here, that is not the only way. Here are some other suggestions:
- Forward the invite link of the Nancy Heinen Verb Live demo to targeted folks in your rolodex inviting them to check it out. A personal suggestion from a trusted source would be a sure fire way to get more folks on board.
- I personally think utilizing the technology and getting videos out there is one of the best and easiest ways we can help. As Rory told us yesterday in the video, Verb Go will now be free for two months. So come up with some cool videos and send them to people, or post them online. Perhaps just a vid of the kids with links to their online schoolwork to send to their grandparents. Send a video to your grandkids with some reading suggestions while they are out of school. Or perhaps a nostalgic video to a friend with a clip from a moment in sports you shared together. Send a work colleague a link to a work document with a nice supporting video describing what is in the link. Support a charity you are fond of. I posted a video I made with my son supporting the Jimmy Fund (a pediatric cancer center) a while ago. It was lots of fun doing it together with him, and I am sure your kids would get an absolute kick out of it. Whatever, I am sure you can come up with some ideas. Point is, use the tech and get the videos out there. IT's FREE!
- I am sure you can come up with some brilliant applications for Verb's technology. Write it down and send it in. While you may think it's something somebody already thought of, you would be surprised. I came up with an idea today and sent it. Probably nothing will come from it, but you never know.
- Write a letter of thanks or encouragement and send it to Team Verb. I am sure words of thanks are truly welcome at any time, but maybe now more than ever.
Last, but not least, wishing all my Verb friends much health and happiness.
