Here are a a few key statements I remember from listening to it:
1) Joe thinks that the NGIO Ii-Key technology will "win the race" towards the first being able to provide a working vaccine. In 90 to 120 days he expects to have something available that actually clinical trials can be started on.
2) There really seems to be no reason why their vaccine needs to be tested first on animals, as they have plenty of human data on similar vaccines related to other viruses like H5N1, SARS, etc., which were all very well tolerated in humans and the ii-key vaccine is based on peptides that are consumed through regular food every day by us humans.
3) They actually did apply for governmental funding to expedite their development of a vaccine as well in the US. However, US congress has only made this funding available a couple of days ago and they immediately applied for a share of these funds, but their application has not yet been finally reviewed and thus we just have to wait a little longer before we hopefully receive the good news about this extra money being made available to GNBT.
