I am not a medical professional, but I believe patients in that category have already sustained substantial damage to lung tissue. While leronlimab might be able to alleviate some aspect of progressive Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), I don't believe it will repair tissue damage already sustained.
We all hope leronlimab will be effective for all classes of COVID-19 patients (mild, moderate, severe, critical) but I would be surprised it critical patients will miraculously be removed from ventilators. But again, I am not a medical professional and would be happy to be corrected.
