Why cutting the red tape on the test kits is important.
.The CDC was charged with developing a Covid 19 test and quickly make it available to the nation. Someone decided it would be a good idea to add a tests for SARS and MERS, the earlier coronavirus epidemics.Unfortunately the increased complexity ruined the results for Covid 19 test and the CDC was slow to rectify the error and seemed handcuffed by its own regulations to respond to the epidemic. The result is a the lack of test kits and a population put at risk due to the lack of critically needed testing. NIH director Dr Fauci called it a failure which in my opinion is an understatement.

Other bureaucratic errors included making the CDC responsible for reading all tests {if you were wondering why it took 8 days to get a test report this is the reason} , not allowing state and private labs to do testing and reporting{ Be sure to read the report about Washington state's Helen Chu} and CDC's failure to coordinate efforts and work with state, universities and private industry.
Hopefully bringing in private industry to work with the government institutions will solve the problem. We need the test kits now.
