I ran into that articles and others on CCR5 delta 32 when I first proposed leronlimab's use with influenza but could find none that truly outlined what leronlimab would do.
That article shows how CCR5 delta 32 gene deletion negatively affects recovery from influenza. CCR5 null mice show an even greater negative effect due to no work around for the immune system. Maraviroc would have some positive effects balanced out by some negative due to lowered immune response.
Leronlimab stands alone because of its partial blockade of CCR5. I looked at the immune response caused by leronlimab in other indications to decide whether it would work with influenza.
