I'm very interested in what happened to Sacha's abstract that was PR'd back in January. Doesn't appear at this point that it made it to CROI. Hoping it's for positive reasons, but I'm wondering if the abstract got the boot for clear violations of PR rules. This is an excerpt from the PR rules on the CROI site - this provides an exception to the general rule of "no PR's until after the embargo is lifted":
“Material information” exceptions: Publicly traded companies that determine that they must disclose general findings of a research study to be presented at CROI in order to satisfy US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirements must notify the conference organizer at CROIabstracts@iasusa.org and provide a copy of their release and their distribution plans in advance. Such releases may include only general findings (not the full data to be presented at the meeting) and may not reference the Conference or the presentation by name.
The January PR clearly broke at least two of those rules, referencing both the conference and the presentation by name. If indeed that occurred, hopefully it didn't sour the relationship with Sacha as it appears that his research is promising.
