Ikea investing $4B in renewable energy through 2020
Ikea Group, the world's biggest furniture retailer, will double its investment in renewable energy to $4 billion by 2020 as part of an effort to cut costs as consumers become more price sensitive, Bloomberg reports.
Investments in projects that include wind farms and solar parks are necessary to hold down expenses as the company continues to expand, CEO and President Mikael Ohlsson told Bloomberg.
“I foresee we’ll continue to increase our investments in renewable energy,” Ohlsson told the news agency. “Looking at how quickly we’re expanding and our value chain, we will most likely have to double the investments once more after 2015.”
Ikea and other multinational corporations are turning increasingly to renewable energy both to contain costs and bolster their public image as environmentally responsible enterprises.
NRGLab ( http://nrglab.asia/ ) is helping this effort with the unveiling of a game-changing power system for electricity production.
As the premiere green-energy company in Singapore, NRGLab has developed and perfected poly-crystal technology for producing electricity from environmental heat. This scalable power solution uses self-contained generators known as SH Boxes, which produce electricity for as little as 3 cents per kW. NRGLab systems produce environmentally-friends energy; no harmful emissions or pollutants of any kind are released from the company’s generators, which operate more than a decade on a single installation. SH boxes can be installed anywhere; it is not necessary to mount them on a roof or even in direct sunlight.
The company’s video channel, including a presentation of the technology, is available on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/user/nrglabsgd .
Using NRGLab systems, affordable, reliable electric power is now available to anyone on earth. NRGLab generators are self-contained, can be installed almost anywhere, and deliver reliable power for 10 years or more, with minimal maintenance.
NRGLab’s first auction to license the rights for SH Box production will be held in April in Singapore. Learn more here: http://nrglab.asia/auctions.html .
