I still think that there are many diseases, all lumped into the category "Alzheimer's" -- and that that's why some drugs seem to help a subset of patients, but not others. There's a dietary supplement that is essentially powdered MCT oil, that helps some patients a lot, and others not at all.
If you say that the disease is "fever" and that some people when given Tylenol improve and get well, and others don't and get worse -- does that mean that there's a disease called "fever," or does it mean that high body temperature is a symptom of an underlying problem -- and the problem can be any one of many different diseases? And does it mean that no one should get Tylenol, because it doesn't help everyone?
