I wonder if GILD and other large companies listen

I wonder if GILD and other large companies listen in to this and other smaill biotech conference calls to obtain information so they can to determine if they should go and purchase a company before the price start moving up. I have seen companies that have been purchased for several billion dollars with no finished products.
