Conspiracy theorists are often those who conveniently dismiss facts that they find inconvenient and don’t fit their “beliefs”. There are many, many articles debunking the rumors that the corona virus originated from the BSL-4 lab in Wuhan. Some of the articles even originate from experts outside of China. Of course if you’re into a conspiracy theory or are generally a conspiracy theorists, well, those articles are fake as well.
I can agree that a leak is possible, but I’ve been in these types of labs and the protocols to prevent such a leak are extensive. Researchers with symptoms of the biologic they have recently handled are required to be reported, so even a single researcher getting sick initially would be tracked. It’s possible, but not likely.
