“I don’t think China shut its country down and (likely) drove its economy into recession either as part of a fear-driven population control effort or a humongous BP money grab.
This is probably one of the most ridiculous posts in the last week or so.
1. Fear-driven population control?? I’m not even sure where to start. China is all about its economy growing year over year, so releasing a virus to somehow control the population via fear makes no sense. China does an excellent job of controlling its citizen by having only state run media, controlling the internet (no YouTube, no google, no outside social media apps, etc.) and religious oppression.
2. I don’t quite see where BP has made a, “humongous money grab,” in relation to the corona virus. Yes, some stocks have been popping on corona related news, but those are mostly unrealized gains to the companies. No BP has a solid treatment or vaccine yet, so they aren’t profiting much. In the long run, maybe, but the conspiracy theory behind BP planting a virus in order to creat the pricey vaccine is a bit much.
