I am not affected by all this as I have not purchased any additional shares in the leat ten days, but I was the same way mised to believe that the dividend rules applied to both parts of the dividend the same way.
Joe stating that we should better learn the business of stock trading before we invest, can hopefully only be meant as a sarcastic comment, because this is an extremely unusual case and thus I agree with those who wrote that he was most likely not aware of it himself until yesterday.
Hence, I think as well that he should be correcting it as his PRs were definitely misleading and, honestly, it would cost the company more not to correct it and leave all those affected, frustrated and upset as you expressed here (and I fully understand, as I was already upset, when they changed the dividend from 1:1 to the 2x 2:5, but this is surely worse) than giving out those 600k additional shares and fix this issue.
However, the proposed idea of changing the dates now retroactively is not going to solve the problem as a whole, because that would take the same shares away from somebody else and - true or not - they could always claim that they knew about this rule and invested /sold accordingly. So this might fix the problem for those that are currently upset and expressed it on this board, but would only shift the problem, but at least GNBT needs to fix it for all their shareholders. So, for me the only way to fix it is by giving out these extra 600k shares.
