They all have motives, even if it is simply hate for the sake of hating. There is nothing anyone can say to them. You can't rationalize with them. I can only relate them to religious zealots - meaning that they are so consumed with their beliefs (motives), that they can't afford to question their version of the truth because that, in and of itself is self-destructive to their being. The irony is that most religions teach some form of inner harmony and peace. I wonder what joy they have in their lives and then cringe when I think that THIS is what brings them joy. Sad...
