Agreed, the other two main coronavirus strains infect similarly to the flu each year, they just aren’t tracked because their mortality rate isn’t close to the flu at 0.05% last year. This strain looks to infect similarly if it becomes uncontained, and it is inching closer to that with every new outbreak, but the death rate is standing at 2% so far, including some healthy young people, unlike the flu. The old strains of coronavirus and the flu though, we have some immunity from being infected previously and the flu shot, reducing the percentage infected. In Wuhan the death rate was higher because I believe the system was overrun with newly infected, something you wouldn’t normally see with flu. If this cycles in to being another annual strain, the first year could be a hard one, but then it would cycle down. Jmo.
