$TMPS Tristar fleet recovery from storage may be u
Post# of 2306
Spotted this from trusted long-term $TMPS trader / shareholder "awe7781":
" Rumor is planes are up and running per the Navy CAP standup and may have been moved to Cardiff airport or St Anthan’s airport already for eventual flight to US....anyone else hear this?"
My comments:
That should be St Athan Airfield - which is the former RAF St Athan that used to be the main depot level maintenance facility for almost front-line aircraft types during the Cold War and up to around 2003.
The airfield and adjacent Picketston site is now a mixed use UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) establishment - main unit being the UK Special Forces Support Group - and civilian engineering industrial park. Aston Martin are building a new car factory there and it is also home to a number of aerospace engineering firms occupying the former RAF hangars.
GJD Services Ltd - who had the contract for keeping the Tristar fleet in airworthy storage - have moved their HQ from Bruntingthorpe to St Athan / Picketston where they now have an aircraft maintenance hangar on the airfield itself.
"Aircraft out of storage checks and return to service maintenance" is one of their listed service offerings.

The South Wales Aviation Group of local aviation enthusiasts log all planned and actual arrivals and departures from both St Athan Airfield and Cardiff Airport so I will be checking their website periodically now for any updates on the $TMPS Tristars.
