What's different with this Corona virus outbreak, vs all the other viruses (SARS, MERS, etc.), is that even if the Corona virus peters out, I don't think all vaccine research will stop this time. There has been a big wake up call that something has to be done to come up with a vaccine that can be developed very quickly in a viral outbreak. Containment doesn't seem to be working so the only choice left is a vaccine.
And of course AE37 is potentially the perfect answer to the problem of this and future viruses. The Chinese government has a lot at stake getting its hands on a quickly developed vaccine, since all of these viruses seem to originate there. Even if the Corona virus was gone by April, they would most likely keep going with vaccine development, for the next time. IMHO.
