Early life and education
Greiner grew up in the Near North Side community area of Chicago and her parents divorced when she was 8 years old. [ 1 ] She earned a degree in Communications [ 1 ] [ 2 ] and worked in the Chicago Tribune newsroom. [ 1 ]
Career
Greiner wrote plays and sold jewelry before inventing her first product, a clear plastic jewelry organizer [ 3 ] [ 1 ] [ 4 ] which generated a million dollars in sales through local J.C. Penney stores and the Home Shopping Network (HSN) [ 4 ]
Greiner is the President and CEO of For Your Ease Only, a company she founded in 1996 to bring her products to market. [ 5 ] [ 3 ] Since 1996 she has created more than 350 consumer products [ 5 ] many inspired by her mother. [ 1 ] Greiner holds 108 United States and international patents . [ 5 ]
She has appeared on the Clever & Unique Creations by Lori Greiner , a monthly TV segment on the QVC network for 11 years. [ 5 ] Greiner has appeared on Bloomberg Television and CNBC TV, [ citation needed ] and on ABC TV as a member of the investor panel for the Shark Tank TV show. [ 6 ] In March 2011, she spoke at the first USPTO Women's Entrepreneurship Symposium. [ 5 ]
