I've been thinking this weekend about our country. The State of the Union is upon us. I am not talking about politics. I am talking about The Union! The word unity....noun
the act of uniting two or more things.
the state of being united.
something formed by uniting two or more things; combination.
a number of persons, states, etc., joined or associated together for some common purpose:
a group of states or nations united into one political body, as that of the American colonies at the time of the Revolution, that of England and Scotland in 1707, or that of Great Britain and Ireland in 1801.
the Union. the United States:
We are The United States! United States. United?.........
I am not so naive as to think anything I post will change someones mind in todays world, but I feel it is worth noting that Abraham Lincoln felt that the most important thing of all was to unify the country. To Save the Union.
I have always been a history student.
John Adams said:
Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide.
Commit Suicide!
