Is the split to simply be more attractive to futur

Is the split to simply be more attractive to future shareholders? I understand that there are many outstanding shares but I am also trying to see how it’s positive for those of us who invested early and will possibly lose 100’s of thousands of shares. Just doing the math I would’ve made a ton of money if we even hit $1 a share but if he splits it will take much longer or a huge cost per share to come anywhere near it. I’m trying to learn.
