People like KB receive job offers all the time -- equity positions. If he ever decides to retire, and as long as he is in good health I don't know why he would, he no doubt would be able to step into a position similar to mine, where a company would bring him on to nurture their product management business acumen and in the new test strip markets, and to oversee development projects and improvement to current products ... but any position he would accept would be 2-3 years and not for a lifetime or a new career.
That is after he sells DECN.
Now, as to DECN, I think KB's goal is to complete the TBG meter and perhaps the upcoming GenCambre, and then move immediately to sell the company (big product licenses in hand). I deal in the same circles that KB does for the most part, and there is no shortage of interested parties. DECN is what, 19 years old, longevity plays a big role in any M&A decision. I believe, that at the moment, KB is looking to realign the DECN BOD, to eliminate any chance of self-dealing at a crucial time, and add a small investor who perhaps posts from a knowledge base and not an angry penny stock trader or someone else that is vile, and also add a pure technical person or a grizzled veteran who could help from a business standpoint.
