Augmentin, a combination antibiotic, typically is dosed in 500 or 875 milligram pills.
50-200 milligrams of brilacidin are well within normal dosage sizes of medications. There are many medications which are dosed at far more than 200 mg. This is not unusually large by mass.
Determining what the optimal dosage of this drug is, whether by enema or by pill, is why there are several cohorts of the drug. It makes sense to think that the dosages that were efficacious in the enema-delivery clinical trial for Ulcerative Proctitis might also be the efficacious amounts for the pill-delivery version. Therefore, it is logical to try three different dosage sizes, starting small with 50, particularly as it is always better to proceed cautiously when doing safety studies.
Addendum: the amount of fluid used for the enema administration was small.
I am posting this for those of you who may have seen illogical posts or PMs from the disturbed person who for some reason thinks this is bad.
