So they house, feed and pay the Pages, but they can’t find a fucking chair for them to sit in? Look at ‘em sitting on the floor. It appears kind of tight but a stool or a bench is too much to ask?
Scurrying around like kids is a Dickens novel. Thank you sir, may I pass along another document for you?
What are the responsibilities and duties of U.S. Senate Pages?
Pages serve principally as messengers. They carry documents between the House and Senate, Members’ offices, committees, and the Library of Congress.
They also prepare the House and Senate chambers for each day’s business by distributing the Congressional Record and other documents related to the day’s agenda and assist in the cloakrooms and chambers.
When Congress is in session, they sit near the dais where they may be summoned by Members for assistance.
Pages are expected to work from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., or whenever the Senate adjourns for the day.
