OK, let's do another Gedanken experiment.
Assume you have 100 USD in your pocket.
Case 1: I plain and simple tell you that I will double up all the money that you carry with you in cash. That is simply another 100 USD, that you would get from me.
Case 2: now I change the rules, you receive 40% extra for ALL the cash, and another 40% extra only for the value of all the $10 bills that you have on you. Assume it will be 5 of them. That means, you got 40+(50*0.4=) 20 = 60 USD.
Now comparing case 1 and 2, you seriously want to tell me that $60 is more than $100 in extra cash?
