My best guess is that the cancers most prone to metastasis produce kinases that upregulate CCR5 expression. It's a vicious little cycle. The original tumor produces the kinases which cause an increase in CCR5. The CCR5 abets the spread of the tumor cells. The metastatic tumors produce more kinases further increasing CCR5 expression.
The best way to stop that merry-go-round in it's tracks would be to use leronlimab as a prophylactic in cancers prone to metastasis. The question then becomes at what price point would insurance companies agree to pay for it.
