I don't know but assume they're working the Lucky Strike pit and I think the term "pit" is a bit premature . I doubt if they have any real depth yet but you have to start a pit with something and the placement of the initial dig is important so hope they have it in the right area with economic gold in several directions and at depth. I don't think they have the same drill data that a better funded mine start-up would have so some luck is going to be involved in correctly placing the start of the pit.
That leach pad has been under leach - some of it - for two years since MarMar first set it up and for sure since Nov 12th, 2019. Looking back thru old PRs -many dates have been given for "leach start" Don't quite understand how it can be soaked and re-soaked without something to show for it. So, yeah, I have some concerns about the orebody - presence of other metals maybe or just very irrregular grades where you can find pockets of high grade separated by wide areas of lower grade.
That's what column testing is for - to test a small column quickly so you know you have economic ore going on the pad. I also wonder if fire assay accuratley predicts recovery from cyanide leach. No ball mill recovery planned in the near future - I did ask about that and was told it would happen later.
Still hopeful but the project has been underway long enough I can't call it a cheap or fast startup. Lots of sidetrips from 2010 to 2020 - some even thru Alaskan waters.
