No doubt ...
our world archaeological records suggest many different scenario's...other than that of Christianity or any other religion. Christianity is a pretty young thought.
There are some religions that promote that you can be or become a "God" or "God Like"
My conscious tells me we were, then we weren't, then we were. How many times no clue...as a civilization. The Bible suggest other Worlds. "Plural"
Did we ascend or evolve from Monkey's or Primates. Likely not.
Did we come from the star's?
This is the most compelling argument and our DNA was altered to be compatible to this earth and environment. In the likeness of our Creator's "Plural".
Our present knowledge and development is in it's infant stage and has remained that way for many 100's of years. Only in the last 100's years has there been a explosion of knowledge.
The difference is the body. Making us the same is the soul.
The common theme over the eons...is Life after death of the body. There is more. Whether that be reincarnation, and or life in the spirit.
Now there are scientist out there that suggest the only way to become "God like" is to produce a never dying body that the soul can be encapsulated in after death to reach the star's again.
Bottom-line are present state of body, soul and mind. Suggest a Creator and or Master Architect of who we are and where we live.
