A CEO must do the same in business. The ability to adapt and change is a necessary characteristic of survival, and of achieving your goal in business.
As Joe E. Brown said to Jack Lemon in Some Like it Hot, 'Nobody's Perfect!'. Point is, it's impossible to be perfect. We all use trial and error, and correct our course using our best understanding and judgement. We are the result of everything that has brought us to this place and time.
Some can get stuck in a rut, like Nanoco trying to perfect their quantum dots using an imperfect process over and over getting the same results. Some, maybe like QMC have the ability to change and adapt and come up with game changing ideas like an Innovation Hub developing multiple products paid for by the host government, and a QD Anticounterfeiting Blockchain with huge potential.
One thing we can say is that CEO Squires has shown his ability to change course, make game changing decisions and implement them (with the added difficulty of a shoe string budget). Interestingly, all the new businesses being developed are projected to be huge: QDSC, QDLED for both SSL and possibly Displays, and Anticounterfeiting Blockchain. Right now, all of these markets are in their infancy and growing. We are onboard a ship with a wise Captain who knows how to follow the stars to his destination.
