Well! they need to you know in 1961-2 At McDonald's I mainly was the one who toasted and prepared the buns and of course handled steaming the Filet buns. I did run as high as 24 back but wasn't good enough to do that through lunch hour as they would run 36 back... I don't recall if the guy running the fries also did the Filet?. Had fun doing the shakes but when things got super busy I had spun shake mix on the windows becaue I was too busy to remove them in time. . Hey it was fun back then but was paid more like .75 - $1.15 an hour. Damn spoiled kids now days. As everything with moderation Unions were fine. They were really needed many years ago due to conditions and various forces. Don't cheat your employer and employer don't cheat your people...damn shame it isn't a fair world depending upon who's rules and who is bending them.
So the milkshakes made back then used real flavors I would pump in like most of us seen at the Ice cream fountains but did NOT use real ice cream it was this refrigerated shake mix. Dam....12 cent fries, 15 cent hamburgers. (Mc Donald's sign said (100 million sold )
