Although one or more of these countries is a U.S. ally, in a conflict involving China, North Korea or even Russia the ability to successfully ship their titanium sponges to the U.S. could easily be threatened.The titanium sponge manufacturing facility operated by the Titanium Metals Corporation (TIMET), that last remaining U.S. producer, is more than 70 years old and in need of $150 million in modernization to continue producing titanium sponge". Scandium: imports from China, Russia, and Ukraine. Bokan has enough for a Sc hub. Hafnium: no US producers. High demand metal. SEG material: No US supplier. Recovery / Separation is modeled in Bokan flow sheet. Vanadium. No pure producer: Energy Fuels is largest US uranium. Vanadium is their by-product. Bokan is Vanadium rich.
