CNN did not air Sen. Lindsey Graham's opening statement during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing about the Justice Department inspector general's report on the origins of the Russia investigation.
Fox News and MSNBC, the two other major networks covering the hearing, aired at least some part of Graham's opening remarks, during which he read text messages between former FBI officials line-by-line.
Republicans such as Graham have pointed to communications between those officials as evidence of a so-called "deep state" plot to spy on President Trump's 2016 campaign for president.
The inspector general found no evidence that political bias against Trump motivated the wiretapping that eventually led to Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report.
Instead of showing Graham's remarks in full, CNN instead gave an update on a developing story regarding Boeing's grounded 737 Max Airplane
Several conservatives criticized CNN's decision not to air Graham's opening remarks on social media.
