How can a royalty be settled at closing? This is m

How can a royalty be settled at closing? This is my lingering question, I get cash deals and cash/stock deals. What I don’t get is a stock/cash/royalty BO deal. I thought royalties were for license and cash/stock for BO. What lingering vehicle will exist to pay royalties to former CYDY shareholders in a BO? What will mark someone as being entitled to future royalty payments rather than some other shareholder? This isn’t even a CYDY question, just theoretical because this isn’t the first time I’ve read someone say BO and royalty. Thanks.
