Give a small payment of $10 million upfront and take on the cost of the phase 3 trial. Structure the milestones so that if it is successful, IPIX gets paid good milestones.
That would have BP putting about $25 million on the line for an oral drug that will be at least a good, if not the best, OM treatment on the market with no safety or delivery issues. Hundreds of millions to multiple billions per year in sales. There are a dozen big pharma companies with over $1 billion in cash.
I just have to wonder where the hang up is. We don't need a behemoth deal to really turn things around here. I really hope IPIX can get something signed soon.
