N R: To answer your question about the $1 sell ord
Post# of 85524
All the basic rules still apply, meaning there has to be a buyer/bidder at or above your limit price for the order to fill. If there are twenty gadzillion sell orders in before yours, you would sit there and watch all those print until your order was up. At that time, If the pressure forced the bid below your limit price, it would show up on the ask as a sell.
The only way the stock can open at (say) $4 is if there are bidders there with orders in at the open. Maybe they bid 1000 shares at $4 just so it would print there? IDK that part of the equation. But just because it opens at $4 doesn't mean everybody will automatically get $4. Remember, there are people on the other side of all these orders and they want the best deal too.
